Description
The BV-2080V Content Extractor offers thumbnail and metadata extraction from up to 100 TV multicast streams concurrently via its Gigabit Ethernet interface (300 streams per rackmount unit). It is ideal for visual at-a-glance monitoring in the NOC, VOC, headend or via an ordinary browser remotely via any standard Web browser.
The BV-2080V is typically placed before scrambling insertion in the head-end, while the extracted metadata and decoded imagery is fed to the EXFO Vision live monitoring system. Disruption of descrambling services is one of the main causes for service production disruptions in the head-end and cost-effective monitoring of scrambling is now available.
The BV-2080V is equipped with Ethernet data input either as 10/100/1000T electrical or SFP-based optical and separate management is provided for data transfer. Its setup is similar to EXFO video verifiers, via the built-in RS232 to USB converter.
Further applications are in middleware scenarios for generating channel mosaics or for extracting channel metadata such as picture resolution, video bandwidth or wide screen signaling information.
The BV-2080V Content Extractor card is specifically designed for the one-inch rackmount unit, which can house up to three EXFO modules. This solution provides high-density decoding to thumbnails of up to 300 channels in a single unit.
