FIP-500 supports IEC 61300 inspection standard (3rd edition) & 80µm fiber

The FIP-500 now includes support for both the 2nd and 3rd editions of the IEC 61300-3-35 fiber inspection standard. This update introduces new pass/fail thresholds and regions, as well as defect segmentation. You can toggle between standards in the device’s “Test configuration” page.

The FIP-500 now adds support for inspection of connectors mated to 80µm cladding fiber, in addition to standard 125µm cladding fiber. During acquisition, the setting for 80µm fiber shows in the lower left corner. You can select the fiber type in the device’s “Interface” page.

The FIP-500 now shows its WiFi MAC address in the device’s “About” page. This can be used in environments where physical layer access control lists (ACLs) are implemented.

Recently released tips can now be configured automatically using the SmarTips feature. This applies to:
