This comprehensive approach will assess the operational condition of the fiber network, predict its remaining lifespan, and identify potential weak points or failures. For the first time, data from Intellisense Systems’ micro weather stations will be collected to measure the environmental impact on the network. EXFO's AI-based analytics will correlate this data with fiber network information, enabling proactive outage and impairment prevention. National Grid anticipates significant benefits from EXFO's monitoring and fault detection, including avoiding failures and extending the network's lifespan.
