EXFO Awarded Outstanding Score in Cabling Installation & Maintenance 2016 Innovators Awards Program

QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, September 13, 2016—EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX: EXF) announced today that its TestFlow Process Automation and Analytics Solution was recognized by the judges of the annual Cabling Installation & Maintenance Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of cabling and communications system specifiers, designers, integrators and managers with vast professional experience.

EXFO was honored with a Platinum-level award for its process automation and compliance solution, enabling network operators to easily streamline and automate complex testing procedures during the construction and service turn-up phases of centralized radio access network (C-RAN), fiber-to-the-antenna (FTTA), distributed antenna system (DAS) and fiber-to-the home (FTTH) deployments.

TestFlow is specifically designed to digitize methods and procedures in such a way as to remove any guesswork or paperwork, freeing technicians up to focus on their tasks in an efficient manner. All of this is done using an automated approach through which instructions are pushed to selected field test sets or smartphones. Once the tests have been performed in the field, the results are automatically sent to a centralized server for analysis. From there, they can be analyzed for quality, conformity, efficiency, progress and auditing. This system provides complete validation that the entire design was properly tested as per the specifications at all test points. TestFlow improves productivity, ensures compliance with operator-specific methods and procedures, and provides relevant analytics for process optimization.

“With TestFlow, EXFO is bringing forward a highly differentiated application to comprehensively address field test process automation and compliance for operators,” said Stéphane Chabot, Vice-President of EXFO's Physical-Layer Test Division. “Our aim is to drive efficiency and reduce operating expenses by automating the flow of information effectively and accurately throughout critical testing phases in the field, and to empower decision-makers with access to actionable, real-time and trusted data.”

Alan Bergstein, publisher of Cabling Installation & Maintenance said "This prestigious program allows Cabling Installation & Maintenance to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products and services in the structured cabling industry.
