Enterprise Distributed Antenna Systems (Hosted by CI&M)

Presentation 1: Enterprise DAS Architectures and Their Supporting Cabling Infrastructure
In general terms, distributed antenna systems can be active, passive, or hybrid. Each of these system types has an associated architecture and supporting cabling infrastructure. This presentation examines these architectures, describing pros and cons of each, and paying particular attention to the cabling systems that need to be installed to support each.
Presentation 2: Testing Fiber in Active DAS
An active distributed antenna system infrastructure comprises multiple subsystems, each of which must perform sufficiently for the DAS to produce adequate signal. Fiber-optic cabling is among those subsystems, and this presentation discusses the challenges faced during fiber installation, best-practice testing methodologies, advantages and disadvantages of different testing methods, as well as recommended reporting documentation. The presentation will answer questions including the following: Is there a way to automate processes and ensure methods of procedure (MOP) are respected? Are results as requested? How can progress on each project be managed?
Presentation 3: Standards for Distributed Antenna Systems
Standards with definitions, specifications, and recommendations for deploying distributed antenna systems in enterprise environments are now emerging onto the market. BICSI recently published ANSI/BICSI 006-2015, covering design and implementation best practices for DAS. Meanwhile, the TIA is working on TSB-5018. This presentation sums up the standards activity that has taken place to this point related to enterprise DAS, as well as the status of ongoing projects.
